RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA — AUGUST 12, 2025 — The American Urology & Gynecology Society (AUG Society) today announced the establishment of AUG Society Saudi Edition, appointing Dr. Ahmed Al-Badr as President. This strategic expansion brings AUG Society’s integrated approach to urology and gynecology education directly to Saudi Arabia, supported by comprehensive organizational infrastructure and aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 Health Sector Transformation.
“Saudi Arabia has the talent, case volume, and clinical ambition to lead in pelvic health and functional gynecology,” said Dr. Ahmed Al-Badr, President, AUG Society Saudi Edition. “We’re building a sustained training pathway—from skills to research to fellowships—so clinicians in the Kingdom can lead regionally in pelvic health.”
Dr. Al-Badr, who pioneered urogynecology as a specialty in Saudi Arabia and established the Kingdom’s first urogynecology fellowship at King Fahad Medical City, brings over two decades of transformative leadership to this role.
Comprehensive Support Structure
AUG Society commits unprecedented resources to ensure immediate impact:
- Full organizational infrastructure including dedicated teams for event management, education coordination, and administrative support
- Direct headquarters support with streamlined approval processes for all initiatives
- Investment in local capacity through faculty development and fellowship programs
- Partnership facilitation with leading Saudi medical institutions
“The Saudi Edition brings our integrated model—urology, gynecology, sexual medicine, and minimally invasive techniques—closer to clinicians who need it most,” said Dr. Rashad Haddad, President and Co-founder of AUG Society. “The curriculum is practical and outcomes-oriented: real cases, advanced techniques, reproducible protocols.”
“This is about raising the floor and the ceiling of care quality—quickly and at scale,” added Mihail Blagoev, CEO and Co-founder. “AUG Society exists to make excellent care reproducible. In Saudi Arabia, we will align international faculty with local priorities and accelerate training that measurably improves outcomes.”
